I got indigestion and had a horrible headache yesterday. I couldn’t even work well. It is fortunate I also planned to take a day off the next day due to some work that needs to be done at home.
I made myself breakfast and watch a documentary about the carbs on BBC iPlayer in the morning. That program is the real eye-opener for me. It is called “The Truth About Carbs”. I recommend to watch it. Then I do some works, eat dinner, do a bit of Yoga and meditation. As I can’t work half of my day and got many stressful things these days, I thought about the following.
Sitting Back & Reflect
When life becomes very stressful, it is always nice to get away from the things that make us stressful for a bit and appreciate the things we have. In that time, having a nice warm cup of coffee in my favourite cup brings me joy. We always have something that we could appreciate. Maybe our health, our ability to something well, that comfortable cloth that you’re wearing, a person you love… anything. In a nice and quiet place think about that for a while. Just reflect that for a moment.
It is like you release the brake a tiny bit to get the vehicle back in control in case of emergency. It sounds counter-intuitive but that’s how ABS (Anti-lock braking system) works in modern vehicles. We won’t be able to get ourselves back on the right track when we are spinning around in our bad thoughts.
Then don’t forget, you’re always in control. Life is short and please do not take it too seriously.
